Removing Furniture Marks and Dents
from your Carpet
A "Cool" Trick
If you rearrange the furniture in your living room or any other carpeted rooms in your house, you may discover that the furniture has left a dent in your carpet.

Or let's say you have invited guests over for a party, and you want to temporarily move your coffee table out of a carpeted room to make room for guests, and you want to hide the dents.
These annoying reminders of where your furniture used to be will certainly be noticed by your guests.
When I professionally clean your carpets with hot water extraction equipment, your carpeting will naturally reset and the dents will be fixed, and your carpet will look great again.
But if you're not having your carpet professionally cleaned right now, and you need to fix the dents, there's an interesting trick simply using ice cubes and a spoon that will do the trick.
The Way for
Homeowners to
Remove Carpet Dents

Simply take some ice cubes from your freezer, an absorbent rag or a sponge, and a dull scraping tool like a butter knife or a coin, place several ice cubes on top of the dents. Let the ice cubes slowly melt there for a few hours. As the carpet soaks up the water from the melted ice, the fibers will begin to swell and rise — starting the process of releasing the dents.
Note: The ice cube trick works best on carpets that are made of nylon, because it's more resilient than other carpet materials like wool and other natural fibers.
In a few hours, use the rags or use a sponge to blot (Never scrub carpet! Scrubbing may cause some damage to the fibers) the melted ice cube moisture out of the carpet. If it's still slightly damp after blotting, that's ok. Move on to the next step.
After blotting most of the water out of the carpet, then softly groom the dented carpet fibers with the dull blade. Do this to bring the fibers back to an upright position.
And that's all it takes!
f the carpeting is old and furniture hasn't been moved in a long time (like over 10 years), removing dents will be a greater challenge. At this point, unfortunately, the carpet fibers may be damaged, and the indentations may be permanent.
If carpet fibers are damaged, then carpet repair or replacement could be your only option.
